Premium organic humus compost

$175 per / cubic yard - available in bulk, 1-yard tote or 1 cubic foot bags - minimum order 1 cu-yd pickup or 3 cu-yd delivered.

+ About

Our high grade humus compost is a fully mature microbial soil treatment and dense nutrient source that will invigorate and feed your soil and plants. The majority of raw material ingredients are carefully sourced right in Trout Lake, WA, and we do not accept any ingredients that include trash. Comprised of fresh dairy cow manure, chopped fresh green forage, straw, and smaller fractions of loamy topsoil, clay, and mature compost. We submit mature compost samples regularly for pathogen and heavy metal analysis, and our manufacturing process goes above and beyond the USDA’s NOP guidelines for compost that contains animal manures. This material is the basis for our custom blends option, and extract compost for compost tea clients.

+ Guidance

Intended as a probiotic and nutrient supplement for existing soils to meet long-term fertility needs for sustained yields. Not intended to be used as a single-source growing media. We advise blending up to 50% compost with native soil for seed starting mix or container gardening. Apply one to two cups of compost per plant when transplanting. For deep compost mulch systems, apply 4” of compost to planting bed and broadfork or lightly till. Store under cover and out of direct sunlight in a temperature neutral area that supports moisture retention to sustain the microlife. Shelf life depends on storage conditions but is safely 1-2 years. Incorporate immediately upon application. Contains excellent biology for making teas and extracts.

+ Uses

  • Market Gardens
  • Raised beds
  • Fruit and nut trees
  • Vineyards and small fruits
  • Field application
  • Residential landscapes
  • Compost tea / extracts
  • Specialty cash crops

Agricultural Compost

$125 per / cubic yard - minimum 1cu-yd / pickup only

+ About

Our agricultural grade compost is made with the same high quality fresh raw materials. The main differences are that we do not ‘baby’ the process temperature and CO2 levels with as much hyper-diligence, and it is a ‘younger’ compost, meaning we do not cure it as long after the initial decomposition (thermophilic) phase. This material still meets NOP requirements and will soon be WSDA approved as an organic input material.

+ Guidance

Guidance: Apply generously to add organic matter and balanced nutrients to soils of all classes. We recommend an application of 2-3 inches deep as a top dress, or incorporating the compost 6 inches deep into native soils to improve soil structure, water retention and yield.

+ Uses

  • Field application
  • Gardens and landscapes
  • Orchards & vineyards

Aerated Compost Tea

$5.00 per gallon. 1, 10 or 100 gallon increments.

+ About

Our aerated compost tea is made from purpose-built extract compost, the finest aged humus we make. When applied to soil and plants, this living mircobial solution provides a quick nutrient kick to the rhizosphere by enlivening the microbial nutrient cycle (soil food web). A treatment with the living compost-based microbe solution is an inoculation of the soil with a microbial population that will naturally find their hierarchical positioning of microbes in a living soil.

This product is a living microbial solution made in a state of the art bioreactor (microbe multiplier), which extracts microorganisms into aerated water and provides them with a nutrient source causing them to multiply. Bacteria/archaea and fungi proliferate initially in this active process, followed by increase in the protozoa (flagellates and amoebae) population.

+ Guidance

  • Provides quick nutrient kick to rhizosphere (root zone of plants).
  • Inoculates soil with a microbial population essential to a healthy functioning and resilient soil ecosystem
  • Potentially provides the microorganisms which may assist in protecting plants from pathogens.
  • Improves material and cost efficiency when using our extract compost or 3rd party vermicompost
  • Basic regime is Spring foliar spray before bud break, and an orchard/vineyard ground spray in Fall after leaf drop.

+ Uses

  • Homestead gardens
  • Residential landscapes
  • Fruit and nut orchards
  • Vineyards

COMPOST EXTRACT TEABAGS

$25.00 per package includes 3 tea bags. Makes 15-20 gallons of extract.

+ About

Sold in package of 3 compost tea bags. The basis of our compost tea bags is the premium humus compost. We fortify it with biochar (as a stable carbon microhabitat for soil biology), and kelp meal (as a source of nutrient dense vitamins and minerals from the sea). Applying a simple liquid extract from these ingredients improves the vitality, color and flavor of your plants and helps soils to regenerate. Compost tea bags come in a set of three, packaged in a labeled tin tie bag, and can make a total of 15 gallons of liquid extract.

+ Guidance

The tea bags are easy to use. All you need is a 5 gallon bucket filled with water, a stick for stirring, and time (up to 8 hours) to steep the compost tea bag in pure water. It is basically just like preparing an herbal tea for yourself. Detailed directions are on the package. Use tea immediately; avoid letting the tea sit longer than 8-12 hours or it will begin to sour in the absence of active oxygenation which keeps the good microbes alive and thriving.

+ Uses

Apply extract as a root drench or foliar spray.

+ Application

Watering can, sprayer or inject into irrigation system
